About Neural Reel Workshop
Our Mission
AI is now part of the creative world. We can’t wish it away—so we’re building ways to work with it while protecting craft, credit, and authorship. We see AI as an instrument, and artists as the authors. Neural Reel Workshop backs creator-led film and arts projects through small commissions, practical support, and shared tools, with a focus on integrity and finished work. We also share resources and guidance that keep rights and credit with the creator.

Principles and Provenance: Trust, credit, and consent without killing the magic
We love bold experimentation, and we believe clarity makes it stronger. When tools or sources meaningfully shape the work, we encourage simple disclosure that protects artists and respects creators, rights, and audiences.
Film-first experiments where AI supports craft
We are drawn to creator-led projects that use tools to support writing and development, planning and storyboards, editing support, and post-production such as color, sound, and finishing. The goal is always a clear point of view and a completed film.
Projects we like: Short films, documentaries, trailers, title sequences, storyboards, scene studies, and festival-ready deliverables.
Visual art, photography, and design with a transparent process
We like work that explores aesthetics, authenticity, and transformation, where the method is part of the art. We favor projects that document sources, edits, and intent in a light touch way without draining the artistic magic.
Projects we like: Photo series, mixed media prints, exhibit concepts, visual essays, typography and poster systems, and generative identity studies.
Music, sound design, and installations that still feel human
We support projects that use AI as an instrument to shape texture, rhythm, and environment while keeping authorship and performance at the center.
Projects we like: Short scores, soundscapes, Foley and sound design packs, interactive audio, gallery installations, and live performance tools.
The Workshop
Small support that helps work get finished.
Our support is small grants, in-kind support, and targeted feedback—designed to help work get finished.. We help creators move from idea to a finished piece through targeted commissions, in-kind tools, feedback sessions, and introductions. The goal is momentum, craft, and completion.

Your tax-deductible gift helps commission and support creator-led work where craft leads and AI plays a supporting role. Contributions fund artist commissions, practical production and post-production support, shared tools and resources, and small public showcases.
Tax-deductible giving
Neural Reel Workshop is an independent arts initiative. Tax-deductible donations are processed by Fractured Atlas (501(c)(3)) and restricted to support Neural Reel Workshop’s charitable programs. Fractured Atlas provides the official donation receipt.
How funds are used
Gifts support a small, selective slate of projects and program expenses, including creator commissions and honoraria; production and finishing costs such as editing, color, and sound; tools and resources shared with participating artists; screening or showcase costs and related logistics; and lightweight transparency and crediting practices that protect artists and audiences.
Our approach
We are small by design. We commission a limited number of projects each year and prioritize craft, integrity, finished work, and clear authorship. We see AI as an instrument, and artists as the authors.
